Deliver in-email video across 75%-90% of your subscriber list

Liveclicker Video Email Express eliminates the complexity of in-email video by automating deployment across mail clients and web browsers using a variety of enabling technologies. Avoid deliverability blocks and simplify compatibility issues with Liveclicker's patent-pending system.

  • One-click video upload
  • Works with any ESP or email marketing software - no switching or integration required
  • Instantly detects a recipient's mail client, then renders a compatible video asset directly in the email
  • Video .GIF, HTML5, static image, and CertifiedVideo™ support
  • Proprietary video bandwidth detection technology for video email buffering
  • Safe failover for non-supporting mail clients
  • Integrated in-email video engagement reporting

How does it work?

For many years, email marketers were unable to include video in email due to ISP blocks and lack of support for Flash or Javascript within email. While certification solutions offer long term potential and are supported by Liveclicker, overall ISP coverage remains limited. Liveclicker works where other in-email video technologies fail because the solution does not require the use of Javascript or Flash and therefore does not trigger ISP blocks.

In-email video made easy

The problem of achieving pervasive in-email video is extraordinarily complex due to the sheer number of email clients, ISPs, web browsers, and mobile devices in use today. There is no one standard enabling video across all email clients, and not all individual email clients support in-email video the same way; some do not support in-email video at all. To make matters worse, there are still real deliverability concerns. Email marketers who are not careful will experience widespread blocking.

Before Liveclicker, email marketers and creative teams needed to invest an enormous amount of time in list segmentation and creative development, plus possess expert-level technical knowledge of how to encode video to account for all the different ways it is treated by various mail clients. With Liveclicker, the entire process is automated.

To illustrate the benefits of Liveclicker video email automation, consider that a minimum of eight (8) video files and static images must be created from every source video asset to account for rendering restrictons and playback issues with different email clients. For example:

  • Flash video playback is supported at AOL via CertifiedVideo but not at other ISPs
  • Animated .GIFs play back at higher framerates in fast browsers like Firefox and Chrome, but play rates are considerably lower in IE and Safari
  • Older versions of Internet Explorer (IE6) do not support animated .GIF compression, making some animated .GIFs fail to playback in popular webmail clients like Hotmail, Gmail, and Yahoo. This is especially problematic when attempting to have animated .GIFs play at fast frame rates - a requirement of video.
  • Email is more commonly being read on mobile devices like BlackBerry and iPhone that may support animated .GIF, but fail to deliver a video-like experience due to bandwidth availability and processor speed issues.
  • Lotus Notes and a smattering of other mail clients must have animated .GIFs encoded a special way in order to deliver video-like playback without forcing subscribers to download the entire video first
  • Firefox 3.6, Chrome, Safari 3 & 4 and iPhone support HTML5 (an emerging standard for video playback) but older versions of Firefox, IE, and other web browsers do not

In short, the reasons not to pursue in-email video were many - until Liveclicker. Because the Liveclicker system detects each subscriber's mail client in realtime - as the email is opened by the recipient - and only then delivers a compatible video asset (video .GIF, HTML5, or static image depending on the limitations of the detected mail client), the entire process of client detection and video distribution is achieved instantaneously.

Because of Liveclicker, worthwhile in-email video is now within the grasp of email marketers for the first time in over a decade. Contact us today to schedule a demo.
